Pinch, punch, first of the month...(01/06/20)

Lucy

Today I started the day with my first yoga session for a new challenge. I have decided to do one of Adriene's 30 day of yoga series. I picked the 'Home' challenge and today was called 'Recognise'. It was almost 45 minutes so the longest I have done in one video. I liked it and look forward to day 2.

Yesterday we went for our evening walk at Seaview and had a play on the beach and a kick about with the football at Puckpool. It was so lovely; we took some great photos and had so much fun playing and racing each other. I even dipped my toes in the sea!

Due to having such a fab time last night, we planned to do the same again this evening. We didn't take the football this time but spent much longer on the beach and in the water...we were all in up to our knees! It was still so lovely and warm, even after 7pm. My phone said it was 21 degrees! I wore my shorts, both yesterday and today! So it really must be hot. We took lots of photos again and can't quite believe how blue the skies and the sea are at the moment. There was a man on a paddle board which is something I really want to try and another man was full on swimming in the sea, he came from Appley Beach and went right past us up towards Seaview and then back again. Someone else was further out in the Solent water skiing which is something I tried when I was in America (September 2000) but I was absolutely hopeless!

F made an NHS sign out of shells and E found a stick to write her support in the sand for the 'Black Lives Matter' movement following the murder of an unarmed black man in America. The riots and protests across America, the worst seen since the 1960's, is such big news that even our daughter who is homeschooling here in the UK is fully aware of this awful situation. I read an article about George Floyd's last moments and it was so awful to read. I just cannot understand how anyone can justify the force applied by that Police Officer. He has been charged with murder and other officers at the scene have been fired. It is just so terribly sad. It all started over concerns that George Floyd had used a counterfeit note (worth about £16!) and as a result he has lost his life. Tragic, beyond belief.

Today I have been working mostly on my 'and she was an artist' Pinterest account and trying to work out how to share it with the hundreds of people who follow my personal Pinterest account/boards. It isn't easy for me to sort this kind of thing and my tech expert (R) was very busy helping the children today as it is their first full day back at online school. F has been given a great deal more work and structure for the remainder of the term so this is going to be quite a challenge for hhim and us all! I am hoping R will be able to help me a bit more tomorrow but for now I am looking forward to the final episodes of Normal People which we are about to watch. I think I need to get the tissues ready!!
